The Temple of Debod is located in Parque de la Montaña. It is an Egyptian monument 2000-years-old which was rebuilt stone by stone in the Spanish capital in around 1972. This Egyptian temple was ceded to Spain in 1968 in gratitude for the work of the Spanish archaeological team who helped rescue the temples in the Nubia valley that were to be flooded by the waters of the Aswan Dam. This monument, dedicated to the Egyptian gods Amon and Isis, was built by a Nubian king and represents the only Egyptian temple which can be visited in our country. This site, welcoming both visitors and residents, is one of the privileged positions from where you can admire the sunset in Madrid . During the summer evenings it often the setting for cultural events.
